United Nations Annual Dinner
This traditional UN Anniversary event, sponsored by the
United Nations Association, Wake County Chapter,
will be held
Wednesday, October 27, 2004
in the Belk Dining Hall
at Meredith College
Doors open at 6:00 for browsing and chatting; dinner served at 6:30 Casual or traditional dress
Dr. Jerry Pubantz
Professor of Political Science at Salem College
will speak on
The U.S. and the United Nations
Dr. Pubantz holds an MA and a Ph.D. from Duke University.
His writings include works on the UN, U.S.-Russian relations, the Middle East, and American foreign policy.
He is co-editor of the
Encyclopedia of the United Nations, has
written
To Create a New World? American Presidents and the United Nations, and has another work on the UN in
process.
Dr. Pubantz will also be prepared to talk about efforts at UN reform and
chances for success of such efforts.

Enter Meredith by the Faircloth Road
entrance off Wade Avenue, turn right at the stop sign, and follow the road up the
hill until there are parking places on both sides of the street -- the dining
hall will be on your left. If no parking space is open, back track and go left
into the staff parking lot.
