Annual United Nations Dinner

with particular reference to importance to the U.S.A..

Jon Sawyer,

The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting
in Washington, DC
Background:
Jon Sawyer is a graduate of Yale and has held fellowships at Princeton and Harvard.
For many years he was Washington Bureau Chief of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch which led him to travel to many of the world's hot spots.
His skill has been evident many years at the Annual SE World Affairs Institute not only in
reporting and interpreting world events but also in summarizing the work of others.
Current projects at his Center include Global Warming, Congo elections, Iran and the
Caucasus, and U.S. relations with Cambodia.
Future projects may include toxic industries in China, using computers to
combat illiteracy in India, population growth in Lagos,
full-scale war in Sudan, our relations with Venezuela, millions dying in Niger,
the status of non-violence in Gandhi's town.
