Topic:Teaching for Peace and Understanding—The International Baccalaureate Programmes at Work Around the World Speaker:Dr. Flo Durway, retired director of the International Baccalaureate Programmes of Wake County Public School System Background:Dr. Durway holds an Ed.D. degree in Curriculum and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an M.A.T degree in English from Duke University, and a B.A. in English from Queens College in Charlotte, N.C. She served on the faculty of the College of Education of Louisiana State University for seven years and taught English for 29 years in public schools in the United States and Belgium. Dr. Durway will give a brief history of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and she will discuss its mission and education programs. Date and TimeTuesday, February 26th 6:30pm-8:30pm Place:The Oak Room under the Belk Dining Room at Meredith College.
